    Step 1: Upgrade your pc to minimum 2GB RAM (Windows requires minimum 2GB for optimum performance)

    Step 2: Make any one of your harddrive partition free., For example: Make D: drive empty.

    Step 3: I guess, Currently you have XP on C: . Boot your computer with Win7 DVD & install it on D: . When bootloader config options appear., Do that step carefully & set which OS should be booted by default.

    Note: Have some of your geeky friends near you while doing it. I dont want you to mess you XP with Win7 during installation. You have much chances for losing your data and/or existing OS.
