Job Description

RailsTeam is looking for a Senior Rails Developer for its office in Ahmedabad.  As an ideal candidate you should be proficient in architecting and building scalable web applications with an in-depth knowledge of the Ruby on Rails platform.  Moreover, you should be a powerful mentor that has the patience and tact to help the team do its best.

You should be well versed in the best practices of agile software development and rails in particular, at the same time creative and flexible enough to think outside of the box.  You should be passionate about setting the technical bar in an organization very high and thrilled to evolve processes for code and architecture reviews.  Most importantly, you should be someone who is tired of inflexible processes and politics in large organizations and looking for an open environment which is small, agile and fun to work with.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical design of products
  • Hands-on coding
  • Set coding standards and guidelines for the team to follow
  • Leading code and architectural review processes
  • Help drive best practices and ways of thinking into pervasive use
  • Working with the team to continually evolve the process with time
  • Enforce good agile practices like test driven development.


Pre-requisites

  • Experience with high-uptime and high-availability Ruby on Rails web applications
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Deep expertise in object-oriented development
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A passion for mentorship and code curation
  • Exposure to agile methodologies like SCRUM and Test
  • Driven Development
  • Good understanding of server deployment,  application scalability and performance
  • Valid passport
